CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - TALENT QUEST
The Ardlethan Country Music Club considers a professional artist as one who has appeared as a named artist on a commercial recording or who has contracted to do so, or who is earning a living as a paid artist/performer/musician/singer/music teacher on occasion of more than once a month.
Artists who have “custom” made recordings which are sold primarily by themselves or student performers who have only released a single EP available through digital media (eg: itunes) are considered, for the purpose of this quest amateur performers.
Ardlethan Country Music festival reserves the right to rule on each case on its individual merits, with the decision made as final.
$5 entry PER individual SECTION,
$10 Duo/group entry

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL SECTIONS OF TALENT QUEST
⦁ All sections will be held subject to entries received.
⦁ Entries should be posted to the Secretary Or completed online.

and should be accompanied by entry fee of $5.00 per section, $10 for Group/Duo entered.

CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS the 15th March 2019
⦁ No drawn result will be accepted. In the event of a drawn result, the best result gained for entertainment value will decide the position, based on presentation, diction etc.
⦁ The judge’s decision is final. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
⦁ Public address, sound system will be supplied, but as this is only our 4th year there will be no backing band provided. Therefore. Contestants will be required to supply their own backing either by a C D backing track/thumb drive or by self-accompaniment; contestants may have one other backing musician.
⦁ Under no circumstances will vocals be accepted on the C D.
⦁ Presentation of all sections will take place Sunday afternoon.
⦁ ALL SUB-JUNIORS CONTESTANTS WILL RECEIVE AN AWARD.
⦁ The association has the right to reject any nomination.
⦁ Any individual may appear once only in any one section, whether it is solo or duo/group.
⦁ Artists are required to perform only ONE song per section.
NB: Sub Juniors MAY NOT enter the junior sections as we are having all sections in the Sub Juniors.
⦁ Duo/Group. Juniors and Sub Juniors MAY NOT enter Senior Sections, EXCEPT Senior Duo/Group which may include a child or children along with an adult. Veterans may enter both the Veterans Vocal and all the sections, other than the senior vocal. However, please note that the Veterans section will be included in the ‘overall’ point score.
Sub-junior vocals will no longer be eligible for overall highest point score prizes. They will each be awarded a medal for participation and trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category and a prize for Sub Junior overall will be given to the highest point scorer in the sub-junior section.
The Ardlethan Country Music festival Overall Highest Point scorer will be awarded to the highest overall point score of all contestants entered in the junior, senior and veterans sections.
⦁ AUSTRALIAN SECTION; In This section it must be one of these; An Australian Artist, About Australia, written by an Australian or Recorded in Australia, please mark on entry form which your song comes under.
⦁ Prize money and trophy awarded for all sections. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
⦁ EARLY COUNTRY; in this section your song must be recorded before the 1980’s
⦁ COMPETITION NOT OPEN TO PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS
⦁ A PROFESSIONAL ARTIST: is one who has appeared as the named artist on a COMMERCIAL RECORDING, or who has contracted to do so, or who has or is earning a living as a performer N.B Artists who have ‘custom’ CD’S, which are not available commercially, and are sold only by themselves are not considered to be professionals.
⦁ OVERALL WINNER:
⦁ An overall winner will be chosen for sub junior, junior and senior sections Winner will be determined by placing's over 4 sections
VOCAL, AUSTRALIANA, COUNTRY ROCK AND GOSPEL.
Points awarded will be… 1st place-3 point, 2nd place- 2 points, and 3rd place1 point. In the event of a tied score a count back system will apply.
Please Note:- If you enter in Veterans Vocal you cannot enter Senior Vocal. The Points in veterans will count in the Senior Overall
** Walk ups:- The committee has the rights to refuse any participants
** As We Discourage Artists from repeating songs in the same section, earliest nomination will be given preference
